We want you to design one of four cans for Clean’s collaboration with
New Scotland Brewing Co.!
Clean Foundation is seeking four artists to design a can label to be used for a limited run of New Scotland Brewing Co. beer. These labels will be designed to raise climate change awareness in Nova Scotia. There will be four designs in total, each one will be based on one of the areas covered by four of the five Clean program teams – Clean Coasts, Clean Energy, Clean Transportation and Workforce Development.
For this limited run, New Scotland Brewing Co. will package four cans together. Each can will have its own design and text that highlight climate change information relating to one of Clean’s core program teams. The artwork for the can labels will also be adapted for clothing sold through New Scotland.
Artists will be compensated for their designs.
About Clean Foundation

We do this by bringing specialized teams together to work on complex problems, delivering clean projects and programs for communities. Essentially, we’re here to make the biggest impact for a cleaner future.
About New Scotland Brewing Co.
New Scotland Brewing Co. (NSBC) is a community-based microbrewery and live music venue located in the heart of Downtown Dartmouth Nova Scotia, overlooking the Halifax Harbour. NSBC is dedicated to showcasing the best Nova Scotia has to offer, all while producing exceptional small batch beer, mead and cider.
Artists will be paid $1,000 per can label design.
More about the Project
In 2022, Clean will celebrate its 35th year. Our scope of work has changed a lot since we first started and continues to do so. As more people are becoming aware of the environment and seeing the impacts of climate change, they are starting to act. However, there is still more to be done to inform Nova Scotians on how climate change is impacting their lives and the work we are doing to address its implications.
Through engaging design and informative messages on energy, transportation, coasts and careers in the clean economy, Clean’s collaboration with New Scotland Brewing Co. will raise awareness of climate change in Nova Scotia and actions to be taken to address climate impacts. We are looking to start conversations that foster a clean future.
Clean and New Scotland want to showcase the talent of Nova Scotian artists and our communities. We strongly encourage artists from the 2SLGBTQ+, Indigenous and Black and African Nova Scotian communities to apply.
Submissions and/or questions can be sent to Alana Milner, Director of Marketing & Communications, at firstname.lastname@example.org and should include:
