Extreme Weather Emergency Preparedness Workshops
Emergency preparedness workshops being held across PEI this September
Residents of Prince Edward Island are invited to attend one of five Extreme Weather Emergency Preparedness Workshops being held across the region this September 2024. Organized by Clean Foundation, in collaboration with the PEI Emergency Measures Organization and the PEI Public Safety Division, these workshops will offer Islanders practical guidance on preparing, navigating and coping with extreme weather emergencies. Funded by the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-being, these sessions will provide Island residents with essential information and skills to help them in preparing for emergency weather scenarios.
Topics being covered during the workshops:
Household Emergency Preparedness:
Tips on preparing for extreme weather events like hurricanes, floods and power outages. Presented by PEI Emergency Measures Organization (EMO), offered during all five workshops.
Mental Health Resilience:
Strategies for preparing and caring for your household and your community’s mental well-being during crisis. Presented by Clean Foundation, facilitated by Corrine Hendricken-Eldershaw, Canadian Certified Counsellor and Counselling Therapist, offered during all five workshops.
Volunteer Training:
For those interested in assisting at emergency reception and warming centres. Presented by Public Safety Division of PEI.
Please note that this topic will not be offered during the September 19 and 24 workshops.
Workshop Registration
Dates and locations of workshops:
Workshops will take place at designated emergency reception centres with light refreshments offered. Please note volunteer training will not be offered on September 19 and 24.
A subsidy of up to $65 is available for participants requiring child care to attend the workshop. Forms will be available to fill out during the event, and you will be mailed a cheque.

- September 24, 6:00-7:30 p.m., Montague Wellness Centre, 21 Sullivan Lane, Montague, PE
