Extreme Weather Emergency Preparedness Workshops

Emergency preparedness workshops being held across PEI this September

Residents of Prince Edward Island attended one of five Extreme Weather Emergency Preparedness Workshops held across the region during the fall of 2024. Organized by Clean Foundation, in collaboration with the PEI Emergency Measures Organization and the PEI Public Safety Division, these workshops offered Islanders practical guidance on preparing, navigating and coping with extreme weather emergencies. Funded by the PEI Alliance for Mental Well-being, these sessions provided Island residents with essential information and skills to help them in preparing for emergency weather scenarios.

Topics covered during the workshops:

Household Emergency Preparedness:

Tips on preparing for extreme weather events like hurricanes, floods and power outages. Presented by PEI Emergency Measures Organization (EMO).

Mental Health Resilience:

Strategies for preparing and caring for your household and your community’s mental well-being during crisis. Presented by Clean Foundation, facilitated by Corrine Hendricken-Eldershaw, Canadian Certified Counsellor and Counselling Therapist.

Volunteer Training:

For those interested in assisting at emergency reception and warming centres. Presented by Public Safety Division of PEI.
