About the program

The PEI Rural Better Neighbourhoods program is helping homeowners in West Prince reduce energy costs and live comfortably.

When you apply for the program, you could receive:

  • A free Home Energy Assessment.
  • Free home energy upgrades like heat pumps and insulation.

What to expect

Participants will have access to experts who can guide them through each step. Here’s what the process will look like:

  1. Introductory consultation: Conversation with an energy expert about the program.
  2. Home Energy Assessment: Find out what upgrades could benefit your home, and what could make it more resilient.
  3. Post-audit walkthrough: An expert will walk you through the report in your home and explain each recommended upgrade.
  4. Work begins: Clean and the Province of PEI will work to arrange contractors to install agreed upgrades.
  5. Follow-up: The work is inspected and Clean will conduct a follow-up Home Energy Assessment.
  6. Wrap-up: Run through the follow-up Home Energy Assessment report and discuss the results.

How to apply

Please note, the program is currently only available to the homeowners in West Prince, PEI.
