Program requirements

Onboarding: Upon being hired as a Science Horizons intern, you must complete a short survey and onboard into your new role.

Intern check in: Feedback is important to help us grow the program. We will conduct a mandatory check-in with interns halfway through the internship. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions and to share your experience.

Final report: We want to hear about your success and to get feedback on the program. You will be asked to complete a mandatory final report survey as your internship is coming to an end.

“I think the Science Horizons Program is an amazing opportunity allowing early career environmental professionals to take the first step into the green job market in Canada. It certainly allowed me to do so as a newcomer!”

Jennifer Woods

South Shore Watershed Association

“This was a fantastic internship – truly unique in the support I was offered. I have never been a part of an internship where regular workshops were open for individuals from all over the country to join in and learn from one another.”

Kathleen Aikens

“This program is well organized and easy to access. The Clean staff are very prompt and helpful with questions and concerns, which is particularly helpful navigating the internship description development and hiring processes.”
