Join us at the 2026 Nova Scotia Youth Climate Summit on May 2 for a day focused on Preparing for the Clean Economy.
Apply if you are:
- Between 14 and 24 years old
- Living in Nova Scotia
- Passionate about the environment
Registration opens: 12 p.m., March 23, 2026
Attendance is on a first-come, first-serve basis; 50 spots are available.
Event Details
Date: May 2, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. (registration begins at 9 a.m.)
Location: Fairbanks Interpretive Centre, 54 Locks Rd, Dartmouth, NS B2X 2W7
Meals: Food will be provided, including coffee, tea, snacks, lunch and dinner (optional, beginning at 5 p.m.).
Event Overview
The Nova Scotia Youth Climate Summit will bring together 50+ youth
(ages 14-24) from across the province for a day of learning and discussion about climate change challenges and opportunities in our communities.
This is a free event. All meals will be covered. Participants will also receive a welcome package with climate-related resources and sustainable gifts to take home.
The summit will include interactive activities, guest presentations, panel discussions and networking with other young climate leaders.
Learning and discussion topics at the summit will include:
- Climate change impacts and climate policy in Nova Scotia.
- How to address climate change challenges in your own life or community.
- How to communicate about climate change and share your knowledge with others.
- Employment opportunities in the clean economy.
- Pathways to clean careers.
Registration
Registration is now open! Spots are limited and we expect them to fill up quickly! Attendance is on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The summit will reserve some spots for youth from priority groups and high school-aged youth. This is to ensure that a diversity of youth perspectives and voices are included at the event. We encourage you to self-identify in the registration form.
Note: For this event, priority groups include but are not limited to: Indigenous, Black or African Nova Scotian, Gaelic, Acadian or Francophone, 2SLGBTQQIA+, racialized youth, youth with a lived experience of poverty or housing insecurity, newcomers to Canada and youth with a disability.
