Job Title: Clean Transportation Navigator (Sydney, Nova Scotia)

Reports to: Manager, Clean Transportation

Salary: $45,000 – $50,000

Hours: 35 per week (Permanent, Full Time)

Summary of the Program:

Clean Foundation’s Clean Transportation team has multiple projects needing support with engagement and administration. Next Ride is our test drive program where we engage with the public and offer information and opportunities to test drive Electric Vehicles without the pressure of a sales environment. Electrify is the rebate program for Electric vehicles and e-bikes to incentivize more EV purchases.

Summary of Position:

Clean will be hiring a Clean Transportation Navigator to develop and support community engagement surrounding charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. The Clean Transportation Navigator will learn how to support communities by doing outreach, discovering the barriers and misconceptions. Supporting Next Ride test drive events will also include scheduling, public outreach and event planning in a supporting capacity for Northern Nova Scotia. As Next Ride grows it will also include cultivating new connections and opportunities for the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with communities around the province to understand and support. charging developing and implementing charging infrastructure projects.
  • Reviewing the charging infrastructure in the province.
  • Reviewing and analyzing policy and developing recommendations for the growth and development of charging infrastructure.
  • Reviewing other mechanisms to provide support for the growth and development of charging infrastructure in the province.
  • Promoting the EV showcases by engaging members of the public on the fun benefits of owning an EV and encouraging them test drive one.
  • Working with the Clean Transportation team to ensure events, presentations and engagement are delivered efficiently and effectively in key target regions and communities.
  • Liaising with community partners to plan and host engagement and test drives.
  • Traveling to and from and setting up showcase booths at events around the province. Including some evening and weekend work.
  • Being an engaging and enthusiastic representative of the EV showcases for the general public, media and other stakeholders.
  • Supporting the safe and responsible completion of EV test drives; and other duties as required.

Education and Required Qualifications:

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must possess a valid Canadian driver’s license and a clean Driver’s Abstract from the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
  • Must have superior organizational, research, and analytical skills, including reviewing and analysing policy.
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
  • Must have an aptitude for safe work practices and the ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
  • Must be proficient with common office software, such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Work experience in EVs and/or low carbon transportation is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization is an asset.
  • Valid First Aid and WHIMIS are be considered assets.
