Job Title: Digital Content Specialist

Reports to: Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications

Salary Range: $48,000-$52,000 (annually, depending on experience)

Hours: 35 per week (permanent, full time)

Location:  Clean’s Dartmouth office

Anticipated Start Date: March 20, 2023

Position Summary

Be part of our vision of for a cleaner world for all. Clean’s Marketing and Communications team is searching for a creative and enthusiastic entry-level communications professional for the role of Digital Content Specialist. Could this be you? We think so!

In this role, you’ll have a flair for developing online content that generates engagement and conversation. You’ll be resourceful at identifying opportunities to showcase the wide breadth of work, programs and expertise that Clean staff have and offer. As a digital connoisseur, you’ll possess knowledge of the current best practices on creating and implementing online content. Simply put—you’ll know how, where and when Clean should digitally show up!

You’ll be nimble and feel at home designing graphics, comfortable behind the lens filming video or capturing images and have a natural knack for generating content ideas. Not one to shy away from asking questions, you’ll be a competent navigator at helping Clean staff shine a light on the incredible work they do. Responsibilities

As the Digital Content Specialist, you will:

  • Lead strategy around Clean’s digital content needs.
  • Effectively write short and concise, informative, engaging and paunchy content for a variety of digital platforms including social media and website.
  • Produce a variety of content assets which include, but not limited to, video, audio, graphics and photography.
  • Generate innovative and engaging content ideas for the organization.
  • Collaborate across all teams at Clean for the purposes of developing and capturing content.
  • Maintain and monitor all of Clean and Next Ride’s online social media platforms and generate regular analytic reports to help monitor growth and engagement.
  • Travel with a variety of Clean staff for the purposes of gathering content.
  • Assist with website content support.
  • Be an effective communicator.
  • Manage your content projects from start to finish.
  • Come to work ready to collaborate and support your fellow colleagues to help ‘get the job done’ together.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Relations or a related discipline.
  • One to three years minimum of progressive communications and marketing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong knowledge of graphic design programs (such as Canva), video recording (i.e., iPhone) and editing software and have experience in taking photos.
  • Experience creating content and developing content calendars.
  • Expert at working within social media platforms.
  • Knowledge working within website platforms (i.e., WordPress).
  • Strong collaborator.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence is considered an asset.

Working Conditions

The Digital Content Specialist role will mainly be in office with the potential ability to work from home one to two days per week. Some travel may be required within Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for content gathering and event purposes.
