Job Title: Communications Advisor
Reports to: Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications
Salary Range: $53,000-$58,000 (annually, depending on experience)
Hours: 35 per week (permanent, full time)
Location: Opportunity to be based out of one of Clean’s office locations (Dartmouth, NS; Sydney, NS; or Charlottetown, PEI)

Position Summary
Help us communicate the transition to a cleaner world. Clean’s Marketing and Communications team is looking for a savvy communications professional, with a few years under their belt, to help us share, inspire and broaden public awareness about Clean and the work we do to take on climate change challenges.
As a Communications Advisor at Clean, you’ll have an interest in expanding your subject matter expertise in the world of the environment. You’ll have a passion for communication and an eye for digital marketing. You are comfortable leading strategy development on projects, creating detailed and innovative communications and marketing plans, facilitating discussions and delivering detailed action plans. You have knowledge of design best practices and are a skilled writer and content creator.
You are a competent collaborator, comfortable demonstrating initiative and will ask questions to learn more when you find yourself in unfamiliar territory. You are a person who appreciates a hard-working team with a strong sense of humour and camaraderie.
Responsibilities
As the Communications Advisor you will:
- Lead and develop communication and marketing initiatives for various programs and projects at Clean.
- Write communications materials for a variety of platforms such as, but not limited to, websites, blogs, news releases, annual reports, newsletters, podcast, video, strategy and planning documents.
- Ideate and generate creative marketing campaigns and materials.
- Create content (written, design, video, audio or photos) for a variety of platforms such as website, social media, video, podcast, print materials and signage to name a few.
- Lead communications with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft marketing budgets where required.
- Perform content updates on cleanfoundation.ca and Clean’s family of websites.
- Be an effective project manager and liaison with a variety of staff members working within Clean’s programs and projects.
- Come to work ready to collaborate and support your fellow colleagues to help ‘get the job done’ together.
Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Relations or a related discipline.
- Three to five years minimum of progressive communications and marketing experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of graphic design programs (such as Canva), video recording and editing software and have experience in taking photos.
- Knowledge and experience working within online website platforms such as WordPress.
- Effective project leader.
- Strong relationship building and management skills.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid Nova Scotia and/or Prince Edward Island driver’s licence is considered an asset.
Working Conditions
The Communications Advisor role will be mainly in office with the potential ability to work from home one to two days per week. Some travel may be required within Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island for content gathering and event purposes.
