Salary Range: $50,000 annually

Hours: 35 per week (full-time, term position)

Location:  Dartmouth, NS

Anticipated Start Date: Spring 2023

Position Summary

Help youth kick-start their careers in the clean economy. Clean’s Workforce Development team is currently searching for an engaging and dynamic go-getter, with a passion for the environment, to join our team as a Program Coordinator.  Someone who will be keen to help build connections between youth and organizations to help foster stewardship of the natural environment and grow the next generation of community leaders.

As a Program Coordinator, you’ll help place youth in organizations across Nova Scotia and Canada, in career opportunities that are rooted in the clean economy—areas such as energy efficiency, public engagement, clean tech research and development, ecological restoration and more. You’ll support the greater Workforce Development team as we work together to inspire and encourage employers to hire interns in roles focused on creating a low-carbon economy.

Daily, you’ll help support the team with research, planning and project administration.

You’ll be ready to roll up your sleeves to help your colleagues deliver quality internship programs to both employer organizations and their youth interns.

Responsibilities

As a Program Coordinator- Workforce Development, you will:

  • Research, connect with and gather contact information for potential community partners, employers and interns within Nova Scotia and across Canada.
  • Assist team members, particularly the program leads, with day-to-day responsibilities and programming.
  • Support the intern recruitment and hiring process and assist with the organization and promotion of program webinars and training.
  • Evaluate intern reports and assist with program deliverables and compiling this information.
  • Help program leads with on the job internship visits both in-person and virtual site visits.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of an annual two-day professional development conference for Clean Leader Summer Interns.
  • Collaborate daily with the Clean internship team.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary background in project management, community development, human resources, business, sustainability or related experience.
  • Be a strong communicator and collaborator.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate a passion for youth employment and the clean economy.
  • Great self-starter who also enjoys working with a fun team.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a criminal background check.
  • The ability to speak other languages is an asset but it isn’t required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Working Conditions

Some travel may be required within Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. This position will have the ability to work both from home as well as in the office.
