Inclusive workforce

Clean works to develop the clean economy workforce and support employment equity. To do this, we work with host employers to bring equitable internship opportunities to underrepresented youth including Indigenous, Black and African Nova Scotian youth.

Indigenous Internship Opportunities

Employment opportunities for youth who self-identify as First Nation, Métis or Inuit, preparing them to become leaders in their community and stewards of the environment.

Black & African Nova Scotian Internship Opportunities

Employment opportunities for youth who self-identify as Black, African Nova Scotian or individuals of African descent, providing participants with career connections and professional training in the clean economy.

Program updates

Based on feedback and to better accommodate demand for the program, Clean will no longer have all interns on its payroll. We hope this change will reduce administrative paperwork for both interns and employers and allow Clean to provide internship opportunities to more youth. Clean will continue to support employers in recruitment, application screening and interviews. Organizations that may need specific HR and payroll support are encouraged to indicate so on their application. We will provide HR and payroll assistance as needed.
