A Home Energy Assessment can help
You could be wasting $500-$1,000 per year on energy bills due to energy inefficiencies. For just $99, one of our Certified Energy Advisors will assess your home from attic to basement, provide you with energy efficiency upgrade recommendations, and let you know about all the rebates that are available to help you save money.
The Home Energy Assessment program is an initiative of efficiencyPEI – Clean Foundation is a provider of this energy service for the entire province.

Am I eligible?
Your home is located in PEI.
Your home is a single-family dwelling, detached, side-by-side row home, home with two or less units sharing a common passageway, a year-round cottage or a mobile home on a permanent foundation.
6 months have elapsed from the date of your initial occupancy permit.
New Home Construction Incentive
Are you planning a new build in PEI? The New Home Construction Incentive offers rebates for energy efficient designs.
Home Energy Assessment Step-by-Step
A Certified Energy Advisor will visit your home. Your Home Energy Assessment will take 2-3 hours, depending on the size of your home.
- Our Certified Energy Advisor will need full access to all areas and will perform a blower door fan test.
- Within two weeks, your EnerGuide label and homeowner report with recommendations for energy saving retrofits, will be mailed or emailed to you.
Please note: Homeowners cannot use wood or pellet stoves 24 hours prior to the home energy assessment.
Complete your retrofits within 12 months of the initial assessment:
- Make sure to retain receipts and documentation for all work completed.
Contact Clean Foundation to schedule a post-retrofit evaluation within 12 months of the initial assessment.
Submit receipts and documentation to your Certified Energy Advisor who will verify the work done at the time of your final visit. Clean Foundation will submit your rebate application on your behalf.
An updated EnerGuide label will be mailed to you. Your rebate will be sent to you by direct deposit. Please note that rebates may take up to 90 days to arrive.
You may have heard the Federal Greener Homes Grant is ending.
According to a Natural Resources Canada release from February 5 2024, “Canadians who have already applied for the Canada Greener Homes Grant can be assured that their applications will be processed and that the hundreds of thousands of required energy evaluations will continue as planned for the duration of the program. However, owing to the success of the program to date, the government will stop accepting new applications within the next two weeks to prepare for the transition to the next phase of Greener Homes.”
