Why you should apply to become a Clean Leader
Spend your summer gaining paid work experience
in the clean economy!
If you’re a young person in Nova Scotia looking to build skills, make meaningful connections and get paid while contributing to a cleaner future, the Clean Leadership Summer Internship Program is an opportunity you don’t want to miss.
Applications for spring/summer 2026 open Wednesday, February 11 and close February 25. If you’re between 15-30 and currently reside in Nova Scotia, you’re welcome to apply!
As a Clean Leader, you’ll gain hands-on, paid work experience. Participating employers include community groups, associations and businesses across the province that offer opportunities to make a real impact in both rural and urban communities.
You could spend your summer working in sustainable transportation, eco‑tourism, education and engagement, sustainable planning, resource conservation, research, waste, water and more. What sets this program apart is its focus on your leadership development. You’ll take part in networking sessions and mentorship opportunities with industry professionals. You’ll also attend a professional development conference in May and showcase your work at the end of the summer. These experiences will build your confidence and help you explore future career paths.
As prior Clean Leader Maddy MacPherson put it:
“If you are considering applying… do it!”
The clean economy is growing—and you can grow with it. Apply to become a Clean Leader and start shaping your future today.
